The Gabba Music has the pleasure to announce that the winners of 2008 are: “Slow Motion Beer Walk” from Oporto, which had been with the stamp for the charismatic Spanish Festival Hot Culture, in Caldas de Reis – www.culturaquente.com (Pontevedra – Spain).

After having passed for Stages from north to the south of Portugal and Spain, the" Arena Best Rock" had his final this Saturday, 19 of April in the S.Jorge Cine-Theatre in Lisbon. A highest standard of quality was the common denominator between the seven bands in the competition.

The “Arena Best Rock” it comes back to be different of all the other competitions, for the fact to allow and to stimulate the participation of groups of the whole world with or without edited records.

In the end we had artists of diverse countries, such as: Portugal, Chile and Spain. “Bliss” (Porto – PT), “Malkeda” (Pontevedra – Spain), “Slow Motion Beer Walk” (Porto – PT), “The Profilers” (Sinta – PT), “Let the Jam Roll” (Guimarães – PT), “Sogoik” (Oerias – PT) and “Energúmeno” (Concepcion – Chile).

The Jury of "Arena Best Rock" in the diverse eliminatory was composed for elements of: 2Mesa”, “Fonzie”, “Blind Zero”, Dr1ve, André Indiana, “Starvan”, “Delfins”, “Operação Triunfo”, “Radio Best Rock”, “Caiús Music”, “Holmes Place”, “La Fabrica de Chocolate”, etc.

The “Sogoik” had received the prize from "Biggest Energy in Stage" offered by "Holmes Place", after an energetic act.

The “Arena Best Rock” is much more of what a competition is, it is since the beginning stimulated for the Gabba Music, the cultural interchange and friendship between the diverse bands. Proof of this is the "Arena Bus Rock", one bus with 56 places that brought from Porto to Lisbon the organization, the groups and its equipment to the final. One trip full of conviviality, where all had the chance to show their records and the music of their countries.

The participation in the "Arena Best Rock" is not only limited to a fight for a place in podium, therefore each one of the 24 participant bands is going to have a promotion until the next "Arena Rock", as well as, a strategically analysis for the spreading and implementation of this same band in Portugal.

The presentation of the event was in the handle of the mood duo "Quim Roscas and Zeca Estacionâncio" that amused all the present people, transforming the dead times and the changes of stage into funny moments of "Stand up Comedy". Had also passed in the Stages of the “Arena” eliminatory, other great names: João Seabra, Miguel 7 Estacas and Hugo Sousa.

In the End of "Arena Best Rock" we had the presentation of Lúcia Moniz and the Dr1ve; they offered to the presents a mini presentation of a new set show full of classics and magical moments. The joint subject "A Wish" pertaining to the film "Italian Writer" was one of the great moments of the night.

The "Arena Best Rock" it is thankful to all the ones that believe in the music with a form of cultural interchange and fraternity between the diverse countries and its people.
